My Story
Hi, I’m Stephanie Harris—and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve been teaching for over 25 years and currently specialize in 5th-grade math. But my journey to the classroom wasn’t exactly a straight line.
From the FBI to Fractions?
When I was younger, I imagined all kinds of careers—FBI agent, fashion designer, accountant. What they all had in common? A love of logic, creativity, and solving problems.
I earned a finance degree, but deep down, I knew it wasn’t the right path for me. Eventually, I returned to school to pursue education—and that’s when everything clicked.
My Classroom, My Calling
Now, I teach 5th-grade math in a departmentalized setting and lead with evidence-based practices grounded in the Science of Math. I love watching students grow in confidence as they finally “get it”—and I want every teacher to experience that same joy.
When I’m not teaching, I’m creating resources that bring clarity and structure to math instruction. Anchor charts, lesson ideas, and projects that actually work—that’s what I share here at The Seasoned Teacher.
Beyond the Classroom
I’ve been married for 27 years to my college sweetheart, and we have two wonderful daughters. Faith and family are at the center of my life—and teaching is my passion.
