My Story

Hi! I’m Stephanie Harris.

I am so glad you stopped by to take a peek into my world.

Let me tell you my story!

I have been married for 27 years to the most wonderful man in the world. I’m not biased at all.

I met him when I was 18 years old and a freshman at the  University of Texas in Austin, Texas.

We eventually got married and now have two beautiful girls.

The rest is history!

Teaching Wasn't My First Choice

Of course, I pretended to teach in a one room schoolhouse just like on Little House on the Prairie. Did you ever do that or was it just me? I would line up my stuffed animals and baby dolls on the floor and then use old workbooks to teach them about all sorts of things.

But, when I went to college I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. I did think about the FBI or CIA because I am fascinated with all things FBI and CIA or maybe a fashion designer because I love all things fashion or maybe an accountant because I love numbers and math.

See…I was all over the place.

I ended up with a Finance degree, but I knew my last semester I wasn’t interested in using it. At that point, I was so invested in becoming Mrs. Harris that I ran home to plan my wedding!

Bless my parents! They were so patient and kind!

A few years down the road I decided to go back to school to get my education degree. I thought it would be a perfect JOB to have when raising a family. The summers off, holidays off, and I would leave at 3:00 everyday!

PERFECT!

See I wasn’t really thinking CAREER or PASSION!

I was thinking what I did during the day to bring in some extra money before I had my own children.

Now, I Can't Imagine NOT Teaching

Fast forward 22 years later………And this is my happy place.

My 4th grade classroom.

I can’t imagine doing anything else in the world.

When asked what my hobbies are I hesitate because I think people will think I am crazy to say

“teaching and all the things related to teaching and talking about teaching and creating lessons to teach my kids and creating and sharing resources with other teachers…”

Yes…I have struggled with burn-out.           Yes…I have struggled with insecurities (A TON!)

I have worked through those issues and come out on the other side stronger and more enthusiastic for my chosen CAREER!

Nothing excites me more than to see my children growing as students and as people of the world!

Nothing excites me more than to see my children become thinkers!

Nothing excites me more than to see my children develop a lifelong love of learning!

Teaching Is My Passion, and I Can't Wait To Share That Passion With YOU!
